The Nebraska Rheumatology Society invites you to join us for our in-person 2021 Annual Fall Meeting!
We’ll host Dr. Alfred H. Kim from Washington University in St. Louis. The event will take place on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S. 13th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska from 5:30pm-8:00pm CDT.

About the Presenter
Dr. Kim is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri, where he founded and co-directs the Washington University Lupus Clinic. He also co-directs the biobanking efforts for the Division of Rheumatology at Washington University.
Dr Kim primarily runs an independent research program combining bench and clinical research projects to address and solve the unmet needs of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The group has interests in complement biology in SLE, leveraging innovative imaging platforms to non-invasively identify for the presence of lupus nephritis, examining the relationship between sleep quality, circadian function, and SLE disease activity, and etiologies of social support erosion in SLE.

Join us for our virtual summer event! We’ll get to hear a legislative update from the Nebraska Medical Association’s VP of Advocacy and Regulation, Dexter Schrodt. We’ll also have a research update from Dr. Tate Johnson. We’ll end our event with a COVID-19 update from Dr. Ted Mikuls.

Join us as we welcome Dr. Ted R. Mikuls, MD, MSPH, Umbach Professor of Rheumatology and Vice-Chair for Research, Internal Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at UNMC. Dr. Mikuls will present on ACR guidance on the management of autoimmune disease during the pandemic.

Nebraska Rheumatology Society Virtual Winter Event
Join us as we welcome Madeline A. Feldman, MD, FACR. Dr. Madelaine Feldman is a rheumatologist in private practice with The Rheumatology Group in New Orleans, LA. She is President of the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations, Chair of the Alliance for Safe Biologic Medicines and past member of the American College of Rheumatology insurance subcommittee.
Dr. Feldman is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine, and lectures extensively to patients, physicians, regulators, and legislators both locally and nationally, speaking before the Health subcommittee of Energy and Commerce in 2019. She has spoken and written on the drug supply channel, particularly the effect that formulary construction and utilization management tools have on pricing and access to drugs (availability & affordability).
Dr. Feldman received the Distinguished Service Award for Tulane Medical School, was named one of the Top Women in New Orleans by City Business in 2017 and is the former radio talk show host of “Driving with Dr. Mattie.”
